Built to replace nearby Erzurum and Trabzon as the closest gateway to the eastern Black Sea tea country and Kaçkar Mountains, it is operated mainly by Turkish Airlines and AnadoluJet on domestic routes.
Major carriers: Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet. Low-cost carriers: Pegasus Airlines.
